A classroom without books, pens, or paper is a place where potential is sidelined.
At Stop Child Abuse (SCA), we believe that providing a child with a pen is as much an act of protection as it is an act of education. When children have the materials they need to succeed, they are more likely to stay in school, reducing their vulnerability to labor and exploitation.
In our most recent mission across Uvira, we successfully distributed essential learning kits to hundreds of students. These distributions are specifically targeted at schools where overcrowding and extreme poverty have left students without even the most basic supplies. For many of these children, receiving a new notebook or a set of pencils is a transformative moment that validates their effort and fuels their ambition.
This distribution initiative is a core component of our holistic safeguarding strategy. By removing the financial barrier of school supplies, we support parents in keeping their children in the classroom. We are not just handing out stationery; we are investing in the "literacy shield the knowledge and skills that will allow these children to advocate for themselves and their communities in the years to come.
Our thanks go out to our local volunteers and international supporters who make these logistical feats possible. Together, we are ensuring that every child in Uvira has the tools to write their own future.
