As part of our enduring commitment to robust child protection frameworks and children's rights advocacy, we are reflecting on a pivotal milestone for Stop Child Abuse in Congo / VASTARE asbl.
On December 14, 2017, we hosted the Inauguration Day of the Children's Parliamentary Committees in the Ruzizi Plain, gathering at the Catholic Parish Hall in Luvungi.
This initiative was built on three foundational pillars that continue to guide our organizational mandate today:
- Sensibiliser sur les droits des enfants: Raising critical awareness about the fundamental rights of every child.
- Dénoncer les abus: Actively speaking out and denouncing any violations against children.
- Kuheshimu na kuheshimisha haki za watoto: Ensuring the absolute respect and community enforcement of children's rights.
Equipping children with the platforms to understand, articulate, and defend their rights is a cornerstone of sustainable child protection. The establishment of these parliamentary committees empowered youth to become active stakeholders in their own safety and well-being.
