Today, we are proud to highlight a powerful youth-led initiative facilitated by Child Abuse in Congo / VASTARE ONG, where students are courageously raising their voices to demand secure educational spaces.
Standing together and holding a handmade banner, these young advocates broadcast a clear, trilingual message to their community:

The Threat to Education and Child Safety
Substance abuse, particularly alcoholism, in or around educational environments poses a severe and direct threat to child safeguarding. It disrupts the learning process, degrades the quality of education, and crucially, exposes vulnerable youth to unpredictable behavior, negligence, and potential violence. A school cannot function as a true sanctuary of learning if the shadows of addiction compromise the safety of its students.
Empowering Students to Demand Change
The most impactful aspect of this campaign is that the children themselves are leading the charge. By taking ownership of this message, these students are not just passive beneficiaries of our protection programs; they are active defenders of their own rights. They recognize firsthand that an alcohol-free school, Masomo Bila Ulevi, is an absolute prerequisite for their academic success, emotional well-being, and physical safety.
